3 Dimensional Tic Tac Toe was one of 3M's "paper games" - these were played with pencils on special sheets of paper, which were sold as pads of 50 sheets in paper envelopes.

3 Dimensional Tic Tac Toe is a fairly standard game. The board consists of four 4x4 grids which the players must envision being stacked (the sheets do make them appear this way, which is helpful). Players take turns claiming squares in an attempt to get four in a row in any direction, including across levels.

3M collectors' note: there were at least two different versions of the game, one with a price of $1.29 printed on the envelope, and one without.
