Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland

  • Description

An Alice in Wonderland card game with artwork based on Sir John Tenniel's original illustrations for the books.

This game can be played by several people. The 48 cards make up 16 sets of 3 cards each. The cards in each set have different pictures on them, but the same numbers so you know they belong together. The player who assembles the most sets wins.

In 1930 the Carreras tobacco company brought out two sets of the “Alice in Wonderland” game. Carreras was successful with the idea of giving away a card to the popular game of “Alice in Wonderland” with every packet of cigarettes.
The two different sized cards are designed and played exactly the same as ==> The New and Diverting Game of Alice in Wonderland (De La Rue).
    Larger cards measure ~ 2.5” x 3” inches (6.2 x 7.75cm). The smaller deck measures ~ 1.5” x 2.75” inches (3.8 x 7 cm).
Smaller cards also appear in two variations: normal rounded corners (as standard) and square corners: getting hold of them is going to be quit difficult and expensive.
Collecting trade cards in this way can be very difficult trying to complete your set. Easily you accumulate a lot of certain cards, missing others like hell – may be an additional reason why these cards became so expensive. Rules were not included – you had to buy them in the shop.
