Armed Legion Portable
-
Description
A small, "postcard" version of Armed Legion. A game can be as small as a 4.5" x 4" area, or combine up to 3-4 of the tiny boards for something a bit bigger. Each "board" is 7x7 hexes.
The game mechanics are broken down the the most basic of concepts, keeping faction advantages and research involved with the game. Each faction is fully functional with all units (except the Recon Plane), including the special unit for each faction.
In order to provide the units however, each Faction is on it's own "card" along with a "board" on which to play on. So to have all factions available, all 5 cards must be printed. The "cards" are 4x6", in order to use the same Photo Center printing ability that is provided by System Vector. This insures great printing quality on good solid paper, without using any ink. At 25 cents a print, it'll only cost $1.25 to print all 5 Factions.
- ALL RESOURCES NEEDED TO PLAY ARE HERE ON THE GAME PAGE IN THE IMAGES AND FILE SECTION
A quick project of mine that I made pretty much over night. I used some of the basic elements from Armed Legion and made them very, very small.
The rule books is only 3 pages long, and most of it is describing each units specific ability.
The units are more or less the same as the normal version with some adjustments for the scale and weight of the game. Almost all of the units are present, with their basic abilities intact.
The research elements of the game has been played down a bit, but still important. Each player may choose 2 advantages from the small list of individual advantages and use them during the game. This will make for different strategies and options each time.
Somewhat modular boards. While it is not technically modular, you can change and set up different "maps" that you play on, and it can grow from 1 map to 3 or 4. I will be releasing a small set of expansion maps as well. With each of the expansion maps, there will be a couple of faction specific advantages included to keep it mixed up.This is a SIDE PROJECT. Something I do to keep me from being burnt out, while still exploring the realm of boardgame design.
Hope you enjoy it. -
