Caribbean Crusade involves taking on the role of the Spanish, Dutch, British, or French nations in the Golden Age of Piracy in the Caribbean. Each nation starts with 4 ships that they will use to gather wealth, most often at the expense of the other nations. Players can hire Privateers, ship goods around the Caribbean and establish new Ports for their country. Successfully completing certain actions net players Crusader cards that they can use to benefit themselves or adversely affect their opponents.Strategy revolves around the three ship types and how to use them: Merchantmen carry goods from port to port in the Caribbean Privateers attack and loot Merchantmen and ports Warships can be used to hunt down Privateers, protect the Merchantmen, knock out enemy Warships or simply hinder enemy movement. - BoardGameGeek
