The goal in this nautical ship racing game (U race with sailboats) is to complete 7 stages in a race around the world as soon as possible. These stages start in St. Malo, Rio de Janeiro, Bombay, Hobart, Honolulu, Abidjan, Baltimore and the finish is again in St.-Malo.

A special die is used for movement. It has diffent faces (Favourable Winds, Storms, etc.) and this is checked against your Boat (Bateau) chart. It will hinder your move, or help your move or do neither. There are also chance cards called Imprevu, and these are drawn at certain times. They have an effect depending on which of the three oceans you are currently sailing in.
