MONGOLIAN GOAT RODEO: A CRAZY HORSE RACE GAME
Mongolian Goat Rodeo is the most fun you can legally have with a horse and a goat.
For centuries the people of Central Asia have played a game called Buzkashi. As many people as want can play. All you need is a horse to ride and one goat. The goat is the ball. There are no rules. It is chaos! In this version, the players must ride the goat around a distant goal and bring it back to the start. Of course this means going through everyone you out ran first! In the end the winner is the one who brags the best.
Players run teams of three riders. Each turn they move and “tussle” for possession of the goat. They also get to buy “unexpected event” arguments ala Matrix Games. Soldiers returning from Afghanistan have told me this game looks the way the real game does.
This is a hybrid Matrix Game. It comes in a box with a 20x15 inch hard board map, laminated rules, wooden counters, plastic gold coins and 2 dice.
