Spicy Dice

Spicy Dice

  • Description

Twenty four unique dice and six dice rolling games to play. It also has a section on guiding the player to create their own dice games.

This would almost be considered a set of generic dice games, except that they are specifically modifed for the included games as each die has one side marked with red pips instead of white.

The six games included in the Spicy Dice set are:
Catch 6: roll a specific number to collect that number before your opponent does, for up to 27 points (rolling a '1' is worth seven points). Example: if you roll a red '5' and three white '5's you collect five points; a number can only be collected once per game.

Keep on Rolling: reach the higher score by collecting dice that have the same number; red numbers are worth twice their pip value. You can keep rolling your unmatched dice until all match previously rolled numbers-but if the last die rolled doesn't match any of your collected dice you lose all points gained!

2 Out of 3 Ain't Bad: a strategy game similar to nine men's morris. A 4x4 grid has only three squares on each line that one must try to possess. Each line is worth a point for a total of ten (four horizontal, four vertical, and two diagonal). To take a line one must have two or three of your dice on it that either match or form a numerical sequence, such as 6-4-5. A red number can replace an opponent's die.

Grand Poobah: reach the higher score by rolling dice that match the "scoring" dice. This is a set of neutral dice that all players roll after rolling his or her own set. If the scoring dice show a '2' you both gain two points, but if your opponent has more dice showing '2', then he or she gets the points alone. Red numbers are worth twice their pip count.

Perfecto: this is a bluffing and bidding game. Players roll their dice behind a barrier so that neither side can see the other's dice. Then they bid on how many dice of a specific number they believe have been rolled by all players. Red numbers are doubled. A person who guessed wrongly loses a die; the player who is the last with any dice wins.

Diangle: players try to reach the last level before one's opponent by rolling dice that match the level's number. These are one through six going up, and six through one going down. They must be reached in order by rolling three dice with the same number, or one red die. These are then placed on a triangular board and removed when that level has been completed.

On the publisher's website two games not included in this set are described: Big Red and Tic-Tac-Throw.

Big Red: score by rolling white dice that match red dice in your set. During your turn, if you roll a red number, you can set this aside so that on your next turn dice with the same number can be worth points. If an opponent rolled a red number during his turn, or accumulated more dice of a specific number that you also have, then you must re-roll these dice during your turn. Higher score wins.

Tic-Tac-Throw: goal is to make four-in-a-row in any direction. This is played on a 4x4 grid. During your turn, put one of your dice on the board, replacing a lower-numbered die of either player if you wish. Red numbers can only be removed by the same number (what color doesn't matter).
