Weiß Schwarz is a CCG produced in collaboration with some of the most popular animation/ video game works in Japan.
Players separate the "Weiß" side which features mainly pretty characters from the "Schwarz" side featuring cool characters.
Though the title consists with various kinds of card sets, a carefully planned system and rules make it possible for players to mix any of them on each side and enjoy the game.

While the title is German, the game is almost entirely in Japanese. There have been three Trial (starter) decks released in English to date: Disgaea, Madoka Magica, and Fate/Zero. Cards are released in three formats, Trial decks, Boosters, and Extra Boosters. A Trial Deck is equivalent to a starter deck in other TCGs.

A Booster is a set of 100 cards + foils and signed versions of a few select cards in the set all portraying characters or events from the series advertised on the packaging I.E. A single booster pack of "Persona 4" Contains 8 cards from the "Persona 4" set whereas a single booster pack of "Little Busters!" will have 8 cards from the "Little Busters!" set. A single booster pack will contain 4 Commons, 2 Uncommons, 1 of either a Rare, Double Rare, SR (foil), Triple Rare(textured foil), or SP (card signed by either the artist or voice actor/actress of the character on the card). and 1 CC (common climax), or CR (climax rare). A single box of booster packs contains 20 booster packs and will always contain 4 Double Rares and 1 SR, Triple Rare, or SP. Older boxes often come with 5 sleeves for these rare cards while newer boxes often come with a promo card related to the set.

An Extra Booster is a smaller set often containing 36 or so cards. Unlike a normal Booster, Extra Boosters have a foil version of every card in the set. The rarity and structure of a single Extra Pack are different as well. An Extra Booster Pack contains 6 cards, 4 non-foil cards and 2 foils. Cards are designated Common, Foil-Common, Rare, Foil-Rare, SP (a signed card), In addition to having fewer cards, Extra Booster Packs are more expensive and often have limited print runs. Unlike normal Boosters, an Extra Booster Box only contains 6 packs.
